CTI Israel Action Committee Charter

A vital part of CTI’s mission is to inspire our congregants to grow in love for Zionism and love for the State of Israel. The CTI Israel Action Committee provides a vehicle through which the CTI community can organize and engage in pro-Zionist work, culture, education, and active support for Israel. Overall, the CTI Israel Action Committee reflects the Congregation’s fundamental identity as a Zionist congregation.

The Committee’s activities include various initiatives that the CTI Congregation can do as a community. The Committee will steer clear of, for example, endorsements of political candidates or anything else that would materially jeopardize the Congregation’s 501c(3) status.

Below are some examples of the types of activities we envision.

  • Forum – Provide a place to educate and inform people, and where we can have intelligent discussion about Israel, Zionism, and the world.
  • Response – Provide a means for the congregation to come together to respond to events or circumstances affecting Israel.
  • Speakers – Vet and arrange speakers for various CTI events.
  • Education and Awareness – Keep the Congregation informed about vital topics affecting Israel and our community, for example, pending developments in Israel’s physical, diplomatic, and economic security; The Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement, and efforts to resist it; and, local, national, and international Anti-Semitism.
  • Israel Trip – Arrange a CTI Israel Action Committee trip to Israel, with appropriate activities and learning experiences.
  • Partners – Provide information about, and support to, other Zionist efforts and organizations.
  • Culture – Celebrate Israeli food, music, literature, language, history, film, and art.
